Terezin Returns to the Village Theatre 1st Stage |
Terezin tells one of the most fascinating and least known stories of the Holocaust. Based on the true story of the Czech ghetto Theresienstadt, founded by the Nazis in 1943 and designated for the intellectual and artistic elite Jews of Europe, Terezin follows the fortunes of a handful of prisoners as they try to understand the truth of their captivity. When the Nazis "beautify" Theresienstadt in an attempt to deceive the Red Cross and sway public perception, the prisoners struggle to expose the truth through art and music — and in so doing, discover the humanity they all share. A remarkable new musical that finds hope amid the heartbreak, humanity and courageous humor amid the horror, Terezin is not to be missed.

"Plaid" doo-wops its way into the hearts of all with familiar songs of post-war America, a time filled with unforgettable tunes and unmatched harmonies.

Review: Man of La Mancha |
Since becoming a dark-horse success in its 1965 Broadway premiere, "Man of La Mancha" has remained a sentimental favorite of many. But this hyper-romantic conflation of "Don Quixote" and an episode from the life of Quixote's creator, 16th-century Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes, doesn't always soar on stage. In revival, the show can be a stirring interlude — or a sappy exercise in uplift.
