A self described “crossover artist,” Megan is as comfortable singing musical theater as she is dazzling audiences with her gorgeous operatic lyric coloratura soprano voice. Megan’s strong musicianship and tremendous sense of fun is the perfect compliment to the over 400 Seattle Men’s Chorus (SMC) and Seattle Women’s Chorus (SWC) singers.

A Montana native, Megan studied music and theater at the University of Puget Sound. In October 2009 Megan was named a winner in the Western Washington District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and she was a regional finalist at the Metropolitan Opera competition this year. Megan recently sang the role of Magnolia in Village Theatre’s production of Show Boat. Other favorite performances include the title role in La Perichole with the Hans Wolf Operetta Series, The Color of Coloratura with the Federal Way Symphony, and Ma?enka in The Bartered Bride with the Auburn Symphony and the Tacoma Opera Young Artist Program. Megan enjoys balancing musical theater and operatic roles in her repertoire. She believes the most important thing is to have fun singing while maintaining the integrity of the music. Megan observed that for professional singers, “It’s important to always strive to get to the next level and advance your career. However, my philosophy is to enjoy the music I’m making at this moment. I’m having a great time with the amazing opportunities to sing that are available to me right now.”

Megan is thrilled to join the members of SMC and SWC for Glitter and Be Gay. “It is an honor to work with an artistic organization with such tremendous integrity for its music and mission,” she said. “I greatly respect the work of the Choruses, and look forward to making music together. It feels like a big, welcoming family, and I’m excited to be a part of something so significant and special to the Seattle community.”
